IMMOKALEE — Guadalupe Center held a "Passing of the Key" ceremony May 1 to mark the transition of its resale shop to Hope PACE, a Chapters Health System program. Community members, supporters, and representatives from both organizations attended to recognize the shop’s legacy and its continued service under Hope PACE’s leadership.
For 18 years, the resale shop has offered an affordable shopping option while supporting Guadalupe Center’s educational programs in Immokalee. Now, with Hope PACE at the helm, the shop will continue to serve local families, with proceeds supporting long-term care to help older individuals stay in their homes for as long as possible. .
“We are grateful for the community’s long-standing support of our resale shop, and proud to pass the key to such a trusted partner,” said Dawn Montecalvo, president and CEO of Guadalupe. “This transition allows us to focus more deeply on our mission of empowering students in Immokalee, while knowing that Hope PACE will continue to foster the shop’s welcoming environment and serve families with care and compassion.”
During the event, leaders from both organizations reflected on the shop’s impact and expressed gratitude for the community’s continued support. Hope PACE reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the shop’s friendly, community-focused atmosphere while expanding its reach.
“We are honored to continue the shop’s service to the community," said Robert Sheehan, Director of Community Engagement at Hope Healthcare Services. "Every purchase will now support essential programs for our community such as primary care at home, socialization, transportation, and more to help individuals remain happy and healthy where they live..”
Guadalupe Center extends heartfelt thanks to all who have supported—and continue to support—our mission. We look forward to seeing the resale shop thrive in its next chapter under Hope PACE’s leadership.
