LABELLE — LaBelle City Commissioners honored the LaBelle Little League 12U All-Star baseball team at their meeting on Sept. 11.

The All-Stars won the Little League Sectional tournament earlier this year and progressed further than any other All-Star team from LaBelle. The city’s proclamation celebrated the All-Stars’ title of district champions and first-time sectional 6 champions and commended the team for representing the City of LaBelle at the championship tournament.

Ahead of their appearance in the state tournament, LaBelle held a parade to send the All-Stars off in style.

The 12U All-Stars were coached by Bryce Hall, Daniel Moss, and Brad Smith. The players are Jenson Moss, Bryce Lynch, Brayden Palladino, Drayton Van Houten, Marcelino DeLeon, Aaiden Meyer, Fisher Kingman, Tyson Callaway, Cooper Smith, Colt Morrison, Jacob Jones, and Charles Julian

City commissioners also recognized LaBelle Fire Chief Brent Stevens with a proclamation honoring him for being named Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year by the Florida Fire Chiefs' Association (FFCA).

The FFCA announced in July that Fire Chief Brent Stevens of LaBelle Fire Department was selected as Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year and that Fire Chief Harold Theus of Alachua County Fire Rescue had been named Career Fire Chief of the Year for 2025. Both were formally recognized during the closing Installation Dinner at FFCA’s Executive Development Conference in Miami.

The award is presented annually to a chief officer who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and service to the fire service and their community. Recipients are recognized for being respected by their peers across the state, and this recognition reflects their unwavering commitment to excellence and public safety.
