“I was interested in finding a hobby,” said Kevin Seiler, co-owner of Campbell & Gunn.

“I got involved in soap making because of my husband,” said Bobbie Seiler, co-owner of Campbell & Gunn, “I’m a mini scientist and love mixing things together.”

Campbell & Gunn began selling their soaps in Moore Haven at the Meat Market, in Clewiston at Common Grounds coffee shop, and in LaBelle at Clementine’s, where their products sold out. They also sold their soaps online. After being successful in their market tests for a year, they decided to expand and open their own shop.

“We wanted to stay in a small town,” said Bobbie Seiler, co-owner of Campbell & Gunn, “we love the feel LaBelle has. We wanted to place our store where it could grow.”

“Shopping at Campbell & Gunn saves people time and gas,” said Kevin Seiler, “You don’t have to wait for products to be shipped or pay shipping costs. We charge what the suppliers charge on their website.”

Campbell & Gunn carries a wide range of products including bath bombs, bubble bars, and hand poured soaps from their own company priced below $10. The Campbell & Gunn men’s line features beard wash, beard oil, facial hair support supplements, and mustache wax priced below $20.

“People should shop at our store because we sell homemade products from local craftsmen,” said Bobbie Seiler, “We bring suppliers from other areas.”

Other products sold include Skinny Dip candles: a four in one candle, lotion, massage oil, and body balm for $13, Goose Creek: candles, plug ins, plug in oils, air fresheners, and room sprays from $8-$30, Florida Salt Scrubs: soap, spray lotion, and salt scrub from $10-$30, and a variety of products from Naples Soap Company including shampoo and conditioner bars, shaving cream, loofahs, moisturizer sticks, face cream, face polish, & face oil, and body oil ranging from $7.50- $20. They also sell essential oils and Sacred Arrow essential oil diffuser jewelry.

“I love the all-natural stuff Campbell & Gunn sells,” said Lisa DeMeyre, a returning customer, “My husband loves the sea salts, my boys love the bath bombs, and I love the essential oils. We also like the soap with the bug off in it for when we go camping. We don’t have to use bug spray when our boys wash with it.”

Bobbie Seiler said that their most popular products include Campbell & Gunn soaps, Skinny Dip Candles, votive candles, and bath bombs.

“You can get about 6 uses out of our bath bombs if you put them in the water for about 20 seconds at a time,” said Bobbie Seiler, “and eight to ten uses out of our bubble bar if you use a small slice about the size of a nickel. A Skinny Dip candle will last about four to five months if you just dab your finger after you blow the candle out. A dab will cover your hands.”

Campbell & Gunn offers a five percent discount for public safety employees, law enforcement employees, emergency medical service employees, fire department employees, and teachers year-round. Customers must show their employee identification to receive the discount.

“I want to get involved with the local schools and have field trips,” said Bobbie Seiler, “I am willing to have a grade level at a time visit the shop or go to the school and teach one grade at a time and with the help of the teacher mix and pour a small batch of soap.”

Business hours are Monday through Saturday 11 am – 6 pm.

The name Campbell & Gunn comes from their Scottish heritage. Campbell is co-owner Bobbie Seiler’s maiden name and Gunn is co-owner Kevin Seiler’s mother’s maiden name.

Kevin Seiler began making soaps as part of therapy when he had post-traumatic stress disorder from the events he saw as an EMT.
