LABELLE — Welcome to the April 2024 Hendry-Glades Audubon program series! The seventh program of the season will be a presentation by Megan Hatten, “Wings Along the Water: Exploring Shorebird in Southwest Florida”, that will highlight the five focal species of nesting shorebirds who call the Florida coastlines home. The program will be at the Dallas Townsend Agricultural Extension Office 1085 Pratt Blvd in Labelle on Monday, April 8, at 7 p.m.
Megan Hatten is the Southwest Florida Shorebird Project Manager for Audubon Florida. She specializes in coordinating conservation and stewarding efforts throughout Lee and Collier counties focusing on protection of imperiled shorebirds along our coastlines. Megan attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Conservation Biology and moved to Naples, Florida over seven years ago to pursue conservation efforts through work with the Conservancy of Southwest Florida and FWC. She recently joined Audubon Florida and hopes to increase education of native Florida species and has the vision of a world in which people and wildlife thrive together.
