MOORE HAVEN – Glades Lives Matter (GLM), a grass roots advocacy organization, addressed the Glades County Commission at their March 12 meeting.
GLM has an ambassador program for high school students from Moore Haven, Clewiston, Belle Glade and Pahokee. They mentor the students throughout the school year. The students have opportunities to learn about local business and industry. They take the students to Tallahassee to learn about Florida government and visit the universities there.
“It was so good to be part of Glades Lives Matter this year,” said D’Mari Hallback, a senior at Moore Haven High School.
Another Moore Haven student, Nathaly Sosa said the Glades County Matter program taught her about the community and the state.
“It was really an eye-opening opportunity,” she said.
