Alicia entered the gates of heaven on June 24, 2023 as a good and faithful servant. She was born on January 1, 1938 in Coy City, Texas.
She was married to Gilberto V. Hernandez on September 28, 1959, and moved to Labelle in 1971 where they built a home, farmed, and raised their family.
Alice was a wonder-fully, joyful person who was always ready to lend a helping hand. She loved yard work, being outside, and fishing, along with fam-ily gatherings, seeing grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and traveling. She will be remembered for always having a home-cooked Mexican meal ready to share complete with the best tortillas ever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and seven siblings.
She is survived by a daughter, Selena
(Wilton) Crawford of Anderson, SC, their children, Alicia, Katie (Zachary) Alexander, and Wil; a son, René (Tina) Hernandez
of Labelle, FL, their children, Anthony
(Chelsey), Joshua, Daniel (Alexandria), Keilani (Barry) Jordan, and Alexander; great-grandchildren, René, Kaysen, and Sadie Rae Hernandez and Beatrice and Mag-nolia Jordan; siblings, Sammy (Nacha dec.) Espinosa, Delia (Ernie) Rodriguez, Gamaliel “Joe” (Annie Pearl) Espinosa, Elida (Roger dec.) Young, Consuelo (Arnoldo) Coronado, and Rane’ Espinosa, along with many nieces and nephews.
Alice spent her last remaining time on Earth at a special place called Summit Place in Anderson, SC, where she was loved and cared for by an amaz-ing staff. Her family is forever grateful for the many blessings Alice brought to them, but are at peace knowing God has restored her body.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
