ORLANDO — For decades, AAA has been synonymous with helping stranded drivers get back on the road safely. The Auto Club Group is now driving its mission even further by supporting the fight against hunger.
“Hunger is rising in every region of the country,” said Keith Mobley, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “This campaign enables us to empower frontline organizations by amplifying their reach and resources.”
On June 26, AAA announced the kickoff of a nationwide grassroots campaign aimed at combating food insecurity across the United States. With hunger rates at their highest in more than a decade, the initiative seeks to deliver at least 3.5 million meals to individuals and families in need.
“AAA is a mission-driven organization, committed to helping save lives, creating member value, and delivering exceptional experiences,” said Gene Boehm, AAA President and CEO. “With this campaign, we’re channeling that energy to work as one to end hunger in communities across the country.”
AAA is partnering with the Feeding America® network, which helps tens of millions of people, experiencing food insecurity, gain access to the food and resources they need to thrive.
In Central Florida, four hundred and fifty AAA volunteers, including President and CEO Gene Boehm, will spend the week at Second Harvest Food Bank sorting and packing meals to help support people facing hunger.
“Hunger is a challenge we can overcome by working together,” said Lauren Biedron, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America. “We’re proud to join forces with AAA, an organization that recognizes hunger is about more than food—it’s about ensuring every person has the tools to thrive.”
With AAA’s expansive reach, which includes thousands of dedicated Associates and millions of valued Members, AAA aims to raise awareness, generate donations, volunteer time, and engage local communities to build a hunger-free America.
In 2023, an estimated 47 million Americans—including 13.8 million children—faced food insecurity, often struggling to afford basic nutrition due to rising costs and limited access. The campaign is intentionally timed for late June, when many children lose access to school meals and hunger risk spikes.
Together with Feeding America, AAA is calling on local communities to unite in the fight for a hunger-free future—because no one should go without a meal.
