BABSON PARK — Members of the Clewiston High School football program were at Webber University in Babson Park on June 28 and 29 to take part in the Florida Down and Dirty Linemen Camp.
The Down and Dirty Lineman Camp is run by coaches from Warner University, Webber International University, various other college coaches ranging from former NCAA FBS programs, as well as some of the best Florida High School coaches in the state. The goal of the camp is to teach the necessary fundamentals to athletes to help them become great linemen.
The Down and Dirty Camp caps off a busy June for the Tiger football program. During the first day of summer workouts, head coach Andrew Powell had the highest turnout of players during his time with the team.
“We just keep building on the progress we made in the spring,” said Powell. “We’ve had tremendous support from the kids buying in to what we’re doing. They’re working hard right now, so we want to keep that momentum going.”
The Tigers will be back on the field in August for their first preseason game. Their preseason game against Frostproof will be away on Aug. 15. And their opening game in the regular season will be at Cane Field on Aug. 22 against Palm Beach Prep.
