LABELLE — Hendry County School District is proud to announce the launch of a new Trade School in LaBelle, offering hands-on career training in plumbing, welding, HVAC, and electrical. With classes beginning this August, the school is now accepting online registrations at www.hendryadultlearning.org.
Driven by a shared commitment to workforce development, this new initiative is backed by Superintendent Mike Swindle and led by Jennie Goffe, the district’s Workforce Director. Their goal is to provide students with real-world skills, industry certifications, and direct connections to job opportunities across the region.
“This is about empowering our community with tools for lifelong success,” said Swindle. “By offering quality technical training right here in LaBelle, we’re building a brighter future for our students and for local employers.”
The instructional team brings industry expertise and a passion for teaching:
• Daniel Rennolds – HVAC Instructor,
Each program emphasizes hands-on learning, preparing students for certification exams, and offers support for job placement after graduation.
Local businesses and industry partners are invited to visit the school, tour the facilities, and meet the students. Employers may also take advantage of apprenticeship opportunities, allowing them to bring on students as part of their workforce while they complete their training.
“We are looking to build strong partnerships with the community,” said Goffe. “This is not just a school — it’s a potentially life-changing opportunity.”
The new Hendry Trade School is located at 209 N. Industrial Loop in LaBelle.
