LABELLE -- Hendry County Officials have declared a local State of Emergency effective at 7p.m., Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, in preparation for the potential threat of Hurricane Ian.
A Local State of Emergency (LSE) helps the County prepare for and respond to situations such as hurricanes.
Hendry County Emergency Management (EM) Officials are urging residents to prepare for the possibility of at least tropical storm conditions beginning Tuesday afternoon through Thursday.
Preparations should include ensuring yard debris is cleared and loose items are secured.
Hendry County EM encourages residents to review their checklist of emergency supplies and items that need to be completed prior to Tuesday evening.
Residents are also encouraged to sign up for Hendry County related emergency alerts by texting “HENDRYFLA” to 888777.
