FORT MYERS — Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties has received a grant of $20,000 from State Farm to help low-income families affected by Hurricane Ian.

“We are extremely grateful to State Farm for its generous grant, which will go a long way toward helping those families that are still struggling as a result of the hurricane,” said Malaina Mote, director of donor advancement at Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties. “At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a safe and decent place to call home, and we are committed to assisting these families in rebuilding their homes and lives.”

State Farm’s grant will support Habitat’s Hurricane Recovery Home Repair Program and its efforts to provide much-needed assistance to homeowners in need of urgent repairs in Lee County. Repairs may include roof repair or replacement, siding, drywall, painting, windows and doors. A faith-based housing ministry, Habitat’s goal is to partner with more than 350 low-income families to rebuild their homes.

“State Farm is proud of our longstanding relationship with Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties,” said State Farm Corporate Responsibility Analyst Jose Soto. “They are doing fantastic work in helping families repair their homes damaged by Hurricane Ian.”

State Farm provided a $125,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties in 2022 for Hurricane Ian repairs. In addition to the grant, State Farm contributed over $1 million to support disaster relief in areas most affected by Hurricane Ian. The funds will be used to support critical needs, including food supplies and relief services to help communities recover.
