CLEWISTON -- The City of Clewison has information for residents regarding solid waste special pickups as follows:
Your Clewiston Public Works Department offers curbside pickup for “white goods” (household appliances) and other bulky items. Solid Waste consisting of discarded furniture, bedding items and white goods is collected on a weekly basis as a regular service by the city.
However, if the volume of such waste exceeds dimensions which measure larger than an average-sized refrigerator, removal will require a special pick up service.
Special pickups will be coordinated by the resident and the public works department as to time, place, date and items to be picked up. Please be aware that by city ordinance, “a minimum fee of $35.00 will be charged, and the director of public works shall charge an additional amount above the minimum based on excessive volume, difficulty of collection, and other relevant factors. This fee shall be charged with the customer's next regular utility bill.”
