HENDRY COUNTY, FLORIDA CDBG SECOND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE The Hendry County Board of County Commissioners plans to apply to the Florida Department of Commerce (Florida Commerce) for a FFY 2023-2024 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $900,000 in the Housing Rehabilitation category. The activities, dollar amounts, estimated percentage of benefit to low- and moderate-income persons and National Objective are as follows: Activity Name CDBG Funding National Objective LMI Benefit Administration $35,000 N/A N/A Housing Rehabilitation $865,000 Provide benefit to 100% low -and moderate income persons The County plans to use CDBG funds to rehabilitate up to fourteen (14) very low-, low- and moderate income homes (up to $50,000 per home) through our general housing rehabilitation program and up to eleven (11) very low-, low- and moderate income homes (up to $15,000 per home) through our emergency repair program. The County will first prioritize its established waiting list of qualified homeowners and will accept new applications for rehabilitation assistance if grant funding is received and is not exhausted. Hendry County does not expect that anyone will be permanently displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities. If any persons are displaced as a result of the planned activities, Hendry County will assist them as described in the County’s anti-displacement and relocation policy, which is available for review at the County Administration Building. A public hearing to provide citizens an opportunity to comment on the draft application will be held at Clewiston City Hall, Commission Chambers, 115 W. Ventura Avenue, Clewiston, Florida, on May 13, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. A draft copy of the application will also be available for review during normal business hours in the Grants Office, County Administration Building, 640 S. Main Street, LaBelle, Florida and on the County’s official website at hendryfla.net by noon on May 7, 2025.
